MASTER OF ARTS IN TEACHING (MAT)
School of Education and Psychology
School of Graduate Studies

The Master of Arts in Teaching Program is designed for students who have obtained a bachelor's degree in a field other than education and who are not eligible for teacher licensure. The MAT program is planned to meet teacher licensure requirements at the graduate level in the state of Mississippi.

Students who wish to be admitted to the MAT program should first seek admission to the Graduate School. Undergraduate transcripts will be analyzed to determine which content courses completed as a part of the undergraduate program will apply toward licensure and which will need to be taken along with MAT course work. Applicants should contact the program coordinator or department chairperson for information concerning the transcript analysis.

Program requirements are subject to change; therefore, applicants should meet with their advisor or department chairperson to review requirements.
