ENDORSEMENT AREA: AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION
Department of Agriculture

In order to pursue graduate studies in agriculture, students must assume full responsibility for knowledge of rules and regulations of the University and departmental requirements concerning individual degree programs. Since requirements and programs are subject to change, students at all times should be aware of current regulations. The objectives of the department are:

  1. to provide a quality agricultural education program for potential teachers of agriculture, Cooperative Extension professionals and others who seek further education to enter or advance in careers in agriculture;
  2. to provide a program whereby teachers of agriculture may upgrade and improve their education for certification and other needs;
  3. to provide those basic and necessary competencies above the baccalaureate level that are needed for teachers of agriculture and those in related areas in Mississippi, the nation and the world;
  4. to provide opportunities for students to participate in research and scholarly activities related to Agriculture.
