The Master of Science in Education in Elementary Education consists of 33 hours of coursework.Three separate endorsement options are available: Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, and Reading. Upon completion of the course of studies in Elementary Education, persons should have:

  1. developed an understanding of the nature and complexities of the reading process;
  2. developed an understanding of the basic mathematical operations and the appropriate skills and teaching strategies for teaching these operations;
  3. acquired the necessary facts and understandings about selected Elementary Science Curriculum Projects and the ability to demonstrate the use of them effectively;
  4. acquired information and understanding of the nature of the social sciences and the application of this knowledge to Elementary Social Studies instructional procedures;
  5. demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and skills in facilitating activities for learners K-8.
