Mr. Alfred Sanchez
SUPPLY TECHNICIAN
Mr. Sanchez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in 1976, he attended Texas Lutheran College. He entered the Army in November 1987. He completed basic training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and advanced individual training as a supply specialist at Ft. Lee, Virginia.
Mr. Sanchez retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years as a logistician with the United States Army in May 2009. He trained and work as a 76Y/92Y Unit Supply Specialist. He has served in the positions of unit armor, supply clerk, supply sergeant, warehouse Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), squad leader, platoon sergeant, battalion and brigade S4, Division Property Book Officer Team NCOIC and retiring as an Assistant Inspector General and NCOIC for the 1st IN Div Inspector General’s inspection team at Ft. Riley, Kansas. He is a veteran of Desert Storm/Shield, Task Force Eagle, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has deployed to Eura-Bosnia (Kosovo) with 568th Engineers. He was awarded Soldier of the Year, AMED (1992), Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
He served four overseas tours; three in Federal Republic of Germany as a member of HHD 207 MI BDE Coffey Barracks, Ludwigsburg, HHC 11th AVN BDE, Storck, Barracks. and HHC 17th SIG BN, Kitzingen, Barrack. He served one tour in the Federal Republic of South Korea with HHC, DISCOM 2nd ID, Camp Casey. His stateside assignments were; A Co Academy of Health Services Command, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, 2d RGN ROTC, Ft. Knox, Kentucky, with duty at Alcorn State University ROTC, 568th ENG Co, Ft. Riley, Kansas, HHD 541st MAINT BN, Ft. Riley, Kansas, 2nd BN (TS) (FA) 289th REGT, Ft. Riley, Kansas, HHC 24th IN Div, Ft. Riley, Kansas, HHC 1ST IN Div, Ft. Riley, Kansas, and OPS Co, 1st IN Div, Ft. Riley, Kansas.
His military education includes, German Headstart, Small Arms Maintenance, Primary Leadership development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Equal Opportunity & Sexual Harassment Course, School Of Cadet Command, Supply Accountability Course, Government Purchasing Credit Card, Advance Non-Commissioned Officer Course ANCO, Battle Staff, Risk Management, Training Support Battalion Observer Control/Trainer (OC/T), Unit Level Logistic Support - Ground Course(ULLS-G), NBC Defense Course, Inspector General Course, Property Book Unit Enhance (PBUSE), Battle Command Sustainment Support System (CBS3), and Force and Asset Search Tool (FAAST) and Warrior Transition. He was awarded ‘2S’ identifier for Battle Staff Non Commissioned Officers. He was also awarded a ‘B’ identifier for Inspector General.
His civilian education includes an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Barton Community College, Fort Riley, Kansas and 120 hours from Texas Lutheran College, Seguin, Texas.
His military awards include the Army Unit Superior Award (3 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (9 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (7), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development with #3, National Defense Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Korean Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NATO Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon with #4.
