STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS (TIME LIMIT)
All requirements for the Master of Science and Specialist degree, including transfer credits, must be completed within six years from the beginning of the first term in which credit was earned toward the degree. If a student fails to complete his or her program within the six-year time period, he or she must petition the School of Graduate Studies for an extension and present sufficient evidence/reasons for failing to complete the program within the specified time limit.
When the student petitions the Dean for the School of Graduate Studies, the Dean will approve or deny the request in writing. The student must understand that the Chairperson of their department will have to approve time limit requests and verify that the curriculum has not changed.
If the Dean for the School of Graduate Studies approves the extension for the six-year time period, the student must complete all the requirements for the program within that time period.
