Vicksburg Programs

Hinds Community College
Vicksburg-Warren County
Campus

Alcorn’s formal expansion to Vicksburg in 2002 was welcomed by all. The excellent education opportunities are now available to community college graduate, transfer, and non-traditional students. Records indicate that we attract students not only from Vicksburg and Warren County, but also from each of the surrounding communities. Alcorn State University Vicksburg Programs focus on upper division curriculum (junior and senior courses) in the following majors:

Undergraduate:

· Education and Psychology

· General Studies

· Business Administration

· Advanced Technologies & Computer Networking (Online)

Graduate:

· Education and Psychology (Master of Arts in Teaching)

Many additional courses are also available to the Vicksburg students in the on-line format. Alcorn State has plans to offer even more graduate and undergraduate degree programs at its Vicksburg location in the future.

Hinds Community College  has been a partner from our beginning; providing space for classrooms, laboratories, and offices. This partnership has also provided opportunities for students to programmatically earn their A.A. and B.S. degrees in specialized and transitioning academic areas. As Alcorn continues to provide classes and make plans for the expansion and growth of a Vicksburg campus, our Vicksburg student population continues to grow.

“Partnering with Alcorn State University will expand educational opportunities in Vicksburg-Warren County and surrounding communities. The key to progress in any area is to have a well-informed and educated citizenry.”
