“High-Tech Impact” on the Local
Economy
On January 31, 2005 the
Natchez Democrat talked about Alcorn State University’s lease on a
downtown Natchez building in the article called “Start you week with
good news”. The building is to house high-tech businesses. Alcorn
State has already received a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and
is in a process of seeking an additional one for the facility. The plan
is to host businesses specializing in digital imaging. Hopefully, the
high-tech center will have a positive impact on local economy by
diversifying available jobs and bringing the presence of Alcorn State
University to that area.
