On February 25, 2005 Natchez Convention Center hosted The Creole Jazz Serenaders form New Orleans, LA. The concert was a part of the 16^th annual Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration, the event in which Alcorn State University plays an important role. The introduction of the band was made by Dr. Donzell Lee, Chairman, Fine Arts Department of Alcorn State University. This year’s theme of the celebration was “Between Two Worlds: Free Blacks in the Antebellum South”
