Cultural Crossroads Hosts Exhibit
Mississippi
Cultural Crossroads will host "Journey of the Spirit: The Art
of Gwendolyn A. Magee", a stunning and moving collection of
quilts that will hang in the Crossroads Gallery from October 10
through December 14, 2005. A book signing, opening reception and
gallery walk with the artist was scheduled for October 11.
Mrs. Magee met with local
school groups while in Port Gibson, personally guiding them
through the exhibit. She will also speak at the monthly meeting of
Claiborne County TRIAD, a group of over 80 senior citizens who
meet to discuss issues and concerns of particular interest to
seniors.
Ms. Magee was scheduled to speak
at Alcorn on Thursday, October 13; details of her visit to campus
will be available soon. As part of Alcorn's commitment to our communiversity concept and to providing unique and enriching
experiences for our students, the university will provide
transportation for select student groups to visit the exhibit
while it is at Cultural Crossroads.
