Dr. Acholonu Receives FDA Award for Distinguished Service
After a protracted screening of experts nominated to serve as members of the Food Advisory Committee (FAC) of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Dr. Alex D. W. Acholonu, Professor of Biology, Alcorn State University, was one of those selected to serve in this capacity. He served from 2001 until 2005. He recently received a Distinguished Service Award unexpectedly from FDA for the role he played as a member of the Contaminants and Natural Toxicants Subcommittee of the Food Advisory Committee.
