ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS

September 6, 2006

http://www.alcornsports.com

ALCORN STATE, MS—The Alcorn State University Community is deeply saddened to report the loss of one of its students, Angie Riggins, who died from injuries caused by an automobile accident immediately off campus late last night.

The loss of a young life is always tragic particularly in the case of Angie, a 19-year old newly arrived freshman, who had declared nutrition and dietetics as her major course of study.

Her parents were Otha and Maria Riggins of Roxie, MS.  Her uncle Cornelius Riggins works for Housing Department, Alcorn State University.  Her sister Mirreah is an Alcorn alumna, she graduated in Spring 2006 with Master’s degree.

Once funeral arrangements have been made by the family, the University will release the details to the community.
