Note:Candidates who are planning to take this exam must register on the 5th floor in the Graduate Office one week prior to the exam date. Because of particular circumstances, there will be no alternative test date or re-reading date for this exam. The decision of the Exam Evaluators will be final. Remember all registration forms must contain a valid signature from the graduate office. No student will be permitted to take this exam without a valid registration.

 


International Education Grant and Fellowship Opportunities 2007

The following list shows international education grant and fellowship opportunities offered this upcoming fiscal year (2007) by the U.S.

Grant and Fellowship Opportunities in International Education
The U.S. Department of Educations International Education Programs Service (IEPS) offers funding to promote expertise and competence in foreign languages and area and international studies.

The following programs plan to accept applications in fall 2006:

American Overseas Research Centers Program: grants to consortia of U.S. colleges and universities to establish or operate overseas research centers that promote postgraduate research, exchanges, and area studies.

Business and International Education Program: grants to U.S. colleges and universities entering into an agreement with a trade association and/or business to improve the academic teaching of the business curriculum and to conduct outreach activities expanding the capacity of the international economic activities of the business community.

Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Program: grants to U.S. colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students conducting research abroad in modern foreign languages and area studies.

Faculty Research Abroad Program: grants to U.S. colleges and universities to fund faculty conducting research abroad to maintain and improve their area studies and language skills.

Group Projects Abroad Program: grants to support overseas projects in training, research, and curriculum development in modern foreign languages and area studies by U.S. teachers, students, and faculty engaged in a common endeavor.

International Research and Studies Program: grants to public/private agencies, organizations and institutions, and individuals to support surveys, studies, and instructional materials development to improve and strengthen instruction in modern foreign languages, area studies, and other international fields.

Seminars Abroad Program and Special Bilateral Projects: short-term study and travel seminars abroad for U.S. educators in the social sciences and humanities for the purpose of improving their understanding and knowledge of the peoples and cultures of other countries. DEADLINE - September 28, 2006

Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Languages Program: funding to U.S. colleges and universities, a combination of such institutions, or partnerships between nonprofit educational organizations and colleges and universities to plan, develop, and carry out programs to strengthen and improve undergraduate instruction in international studies and foreign languages.

ASU Math Center funded by Title-III will be opened on Saturdays from July 1st, 2006.

Math Center Hours
9AM to 2PM Monday through Saturday
4PM to 8PM Monday to Friday

During the Summer I & II the center will be opened from 8 AM to serve the Summer Development Students of College for Excellence and undergraduate students of Alcorn State University.

All those who need help in mathematics courses like College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Introductory Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, etc., can approach Math Center for better learning. Tutoring is free for all the students of Alcorn State University.

We need your co-operation to create awareness among students about the availability of free math tutoring at Alcorn State University.
