Goat Sale

The Southwest Mississippi Meat Goat Sale will be held Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Port Gibson Fairgrounds from 9 until 12pm. All goats will be sold “on the hoof.”

RE: Christmas Dinner/Gala and Gift

Dr. Malvin A. Williams requests the honor of your presence at the annual “Christmas Dinner/Gala” to be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the James L. Bolden Campus Union Ballroom. Attire for the evening is business wear. Spouses and children are also invited to attend.

We are asking all faculty and staff members to make a contribution toward the purchase of a gift for the first family. Contributions should be collected by the department heads and turned in to Mrs. Twyane Stewart, Bursar, Office of Business Affairs, no later than Monday, December 11, 2006 by 12:00 p.m. Please feel free to attend whether or not you contributed toward the purchase of a gift.

We are encouraging all departments/offices to get into the Christmas spirit by displaying Christmas decor of your choice.

Please call 877-6111 by December 11, 2006 and let us know if you and/or your family will be attending the dinner.

Alcornite to Publish Poetry Book

Alcorn State University Family is proud to announce that the book of Jessica LaShawn Williams (Class of 2005, BA: English Literature) will be published within the next 2 weeks.  

It is her first book of poetry entitled "I Never Knew What Time It Was."  She will hold a book release party on December 13th, 2006, at 6:30 pm at 651 West Washington Blvd Chicago, IL 60661.

“I am proud to represent Alcorn and every success I am able to obtain allows me to prove that an Alcornite can make a difference and accomplish!“ said Ms. Williams.

ASU Math Center funded by Title-III will be opened on Saturdays from July 1st, 2006.

Math Center Hours
9AM to 2PM Monday through Saturday
4PM to 8PM Monday to Friday

During the Summer I & II the center will be opened from 8 AM to serve the Summer Development Students of College for Excellence and undergraduate students of Alcorn State University.

All those who need help in mathematics courses like College Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, Introductory Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, etc., can approach Math Center for better learning. Tutoring is free for all the students of Alcorn State University.

We need your co-operation to create awareness among students about the availability of free math tutoring at Alcorn State University.
