Agricultural Field day
at Alcorn State University
Alcorn State University is
conducting a field day for farmers and those who have an
interest in farming. The event takes place on Thursday,
September 13th, 2007. There will be nine
demonstration sites to train farmers on fruit, vegetable, swine,
and goat production. Highly experienced scientists from the
fields of pomology (fruit production), olericulture (vegetable
production), and swine and goat husbandry will conduct training
program. This is a golden opportunity to learn all about
production practices of muscadine, blueberry, shiitake mushroom,
Asian vegetables, organic vegetables, medicinal crops, other
alternative crops and also swine and goat production. In
addition, the demonstration programs will include fish and meat
seasoning, development of spices, wines and other value-added
products.
Registration, refreshments
and lunch are free. Pre-registration is required. The deadline
