Responsibilities:
Security Global Investors (SGI)
is a multi-product asset manager with specialized investment teams
focusing on fixed income, domestic equity and global equity
strategies. SGI clients include institutional buyers,
corporations, non-profit organizations, retirement programs,
mutual funds and insurance companies. Firm assets under management
were $11.1 bil as of June 30, 2007. SGI is a wholly owned
subsidiary of Security Benefit Corporation.
The Equity Trader is a member
of the Operations Team. The team is responsible for domestic
equity trading functions as well as asset management technology.
In addition the Operations Team is also responsible for
fixed-income team support including performance/attribution and
risk reporting, client reporting, and compliancy with the GIPS
standards.
Duties:
• Execute equity purchases and
sales authorized by portfolio managers and input into firm’s trade
order management system
• Develop and maintain
relationships with securities dealers
• Provide portfolio managers with
ongoing information about market sentiment, trading environment,
trading volume, and price volatility
• Reconcile daily trade order
management and portfolio accounting systems
• Assist in resolving equity
settlement issues
• Prepare trading reports as
necessary
• Maintain compliance with all
regulatory bodies
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years institutional
experience trading equities; small/mid cap equity and options
experience is preferred
• NASD Series 7 and 55 licenses
preferred
• Experience in using trade order
management systems, knowledge of automated trading tools and
alternative sources of liquidity, and experience in program
trading are preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, or
equivalent, is required
• Strong communication and
negotiation skills are required
