Spotlight on Excellence         

               

Alcornite Graduate of Harvard University Principals’ Center 

Mitchell M. Shears, BA '99, MS '01, recently graduated from the Harvard University Principals’ Center.  He attended the summer institute, Improving Schools: The Art of Leadership. 

Shears received his bachelor’s degree in mass communications and his master’s degree in elementary education from Alcorn State University. He also received his specialist degree from Mississippi College in education leadership.  He is currently in his second year as principal at Clausell Elementary School in the Jackson Public School District.
