ASU School of Nursing
has an immediate opening for the position of Dean, School
of Nursing (Natchez Campus). Responsibilities: The Dean of
Nursing leads the faculty in curriculum planning, development,
implementation and evaluation. The Dean mentors and collaborates
with faculty and staff to further their professional development,
represents the School of Nursing to all stakeholders and publics,
and provides leadership in the areas of academic and
administrative policies and procedures, strategic planning and
assurance of overall program effectiveness. Other duties
include: 1) development, implementation, and evaluation of
program philosophy and objectives, 2) leading in achieving program
effectiveness, 3) leading in establishing curriculum, academic and
administrative policies and procedures, 4) maintaining adequate
numbers of professionally credentialed faculty, 5) evaluating
faculty performance and effectiveness, 6) maintaining program
accreditation, 7) facilitating student recruitment and
development, and 8) managing the resources of the School of
Nursing. This is a 12-month administrative position with a
tenure-track faculty appointment within the published policies for
rank, promotion and tenure at the University. The Dean will also
serve as the administrative head of a School of Nursing
administrative council of department chairs and faculty
representatives; serve as a resource person to academic faculty in
curricular development, planning of course content, and in all
facets of the academic process; supervise and assist in
establishing, coordinating, and using clinical practicum sites;
and ensure coordination of the advisement system. The successful
candidate should have a steady record of administrative leadership
of nursing programs and a clear vision to guide the School of
Nursing to its ever expanding roles and responsibilities in
Mississippi and the surrounding regions in Louisiana.
Qualifications: Doctoral Degree and Master’s Degree in nursing
are preferred; commitment to the mission and spirit of the School

curriculum design, program implementation and evaluation in NLNAC

ASU Office of Business
Affairs has an immediate opening for the position of Budget
Coordinator. The position reports to the Vice President for
Business Affairs. Responsible for the development, monitoring,
and adjustments to the University Operating Budget which
includes the State of Mississippi Budget Request (MBR) and related
policies and procedures. Qualifications: A Bachelors degree
in Accounting or Business Administration is required and an MBA
degree is preferred. A record of significant Accounting, Finance
or Budget career achievement is desired. Effective interpersonal,

supervised by President/President’s Spouse of Alcorn State
University. Position effective January 3, 2008. The Executive
Housekeeper position involves routine manual labor plus additional
duties associated with providing housekeeping and hosting duties

Responsibilities:
Alcorn State University’s Systems Research Institute seeks an
expert in image processing and pattern recognition lead work in
the Systems Research Institute. Initial assignment relates to
validation of novel image processing techniques currently being
used in the institute together with the University Medical Center
and several industrial partners on several grants having a
bio-statistical and industrial focus. Responsibility will require
teamwork with other scientist in modeling, building of knowledge
bases, automated pattern recognition technology, and services to
tenants in a high technology incubator located in SW Mississippi.
The successful candidate will be expected to pursue his/her own
independent research, seek grants and explore collaborations with
scientists at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and
other state and national centers and institutes. The successful
candidate will have the option of teaching undergraduate/graduates
courses in Advanced Technologies, participate in departmental and
university services, and develop technical laboratories.
Qualifications: Ph.D.
in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or closely related
discipline relevant to image-processing, pattern recognition, and

qualifications. Responsibilities: The successful candidates
will participate in all aspects of undergraduate education in
psychology including, but not limited to, teaching, advising,
research, serving on university committees, public service, and
grant writing. Qualifications: The successful candidates
should hold a Ph.D. in psychology and be willing to teach in a

limited to the following: general psychology, history of
psychology, computer applications in psychology, motivation,
