Alcorn Student Awarded Thurgood Marshall Scholarship

 

Donovan R. Booth, a sophomore Business Administration major

from Chicago, IL, is a Thurgood Marshall Scholarship recipient.

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) scholarships are awarded to full-time students pursuing a degree in any discipline at one of the 47 TMCF "member schools", who demonstrates commitment to academic excellence, community service, and meets the required GPA and SAT or ACT examination criteria.

To qualify for the scholarship, students are recommended by their high school as academically exceptional or outstanding in creative and performing arts, demonstrate financial need and maintain not less than 3.0 GPA each year for the duration of the scholarship.

On November 3-7, 2007, Mr. Booth attended the Thurgood Marshall College Fund 7th Annual Leadership Conference in New York, NY. At the banquet he met several celebrities including renowned writer Terry McMillan and accomplished actor Damon Wayans.
