The
department of Human Sciences houses the Child Development
Center. It is fully licensed by the Mississippi State
Department of Health and is operating 5 days per week from
8 - 5 monday thru thursday and 8 - 4 on fridays
The Child
Development Center functions as a learning center for
preschool children and are operated on a full-time basis
through the year. Holidays and other designated vacation
periods will follow the university calendar as designed in
the university catalog.
The laboratory is a place where children
grow and learn creatively. Meals for the Child Development
Center consist of a Breakfast, a hot well balanced lunch,
and an evening snack.
The program offers a wide variety of
activities: language development, large and small motor
development, sensory awareness, number concepts, art and
music appreciation, science, visual discrimination and
self awareness are all thoroughly explored.
The Child Development Center is staffed with
one Director, two instructors, and one cook/aide. Students
enrolled in undergraduate Child Development classes assist
in the operation of the center.
