The
Agronomy
Program
is
committed
to
Alcorn's
Cooperative
Extension
Program
(ACEP)
individualized
client
service
method
to the
total
program
delivery.
ACEP's
Agronomy
program
is
particularly
interested
in
providing
information
on
alternative
crops
like
sweet
corn,
green
peanuts,
sweet
sorghum,
sugarcane,
and
summer/winter
forages.
Some of
the
broader
focus in
agronomy
are in
Sustainable
Agriculture
and Risk
Management.
Program
audience
are
statewide,
but is
primarily
focused
on small
farmers
throughout
the
state
with
concentrated
efforts
in
Southwest
Mississippi,
Delta
area,
East
Central
area,
and
numerous
special
interest
areas
throughout
the
state.
Agronomy
is the
science
of crop
production.
It
incorporates
the
basic
sciences
into an
applied
science
which is
the
foundation
for most
agriculture.
Soil
science
involves
not only
those
aspects
which
relate
to crop
production,
but also
environmental
aspects
of soil
management.
This
scientific
area
is
concerned
with a
wide
variety
of
specialized
