The Alcorn State University Small Business Development Center (ASUSBDC) is a business development program of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) office. The center serves as a resource of the SBA by providing comprehensive small business assistance to further the economic development of an area.

The ASUSBDC program is designed to provide quality assistance to small businesses in order to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement.

The major goals of the program are:

  1. To help small businesses in the center's service delivery area increase their knowledge of business.
  2. To advise potential small business persons regarding the feasibility of business prior to investing capital.
  3. To serve as a resource base for the identification of federal, state, local and private resources to aid small businesses.
  4. To strengthen the small business community in the center's service delivery area.

  3. Start-up Assistance
  4. Market Research
  5. Information
  6. Procurement Assistance
  7. Technology Transfer
  8. Small Business Advocacy

Any small business (as defined by SBA) qualifies for the services provided by the ASUSBDC. Our resources include professional staff and faculty, city and county agencies, state and federal agencies, banks and lending institutions, private businesses and various trade associations, and SCORE-ACE-DECD-SBA.
