Welcome to the Alcorn State University Reaffirmation of Accreditation Review site. The purpose of this site is to keep you informed about the activities related the reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). In 2011, Alcorn State University will be one of many SACS-accredited institutions to submit to the review process for reaffirmation of accreditation. The Accreditation Leadership Team, appointed by President George E. Ross, will provide the overall leadership for our review. However, the process for review will involve the entire University community. Our report will be the results of the collective efforts of all components of the University, including input from academic programs, support services, and administrative units. Students, alumni, and other university constituents will also provide input and feedback as the report is developed.
Please take a few minutes to review the information provided. Pertinent information about recent activities is found in the “Did You Know?” section. The “Current Activities” section features items and information which require immediate response. The “SACS Documents” section provides information on the accreditation criteria. The Resource Manual for the Principles of Accreditation is particularly useful for explanation and commentary on the criteria.
