Alcorn’s formal expansion to Vicksburg in 2002 was welcomed by all.  The excellent education opportunities made available to high school graduates and community college students are now also available to the non-traditional student.  Records indicate that we attract students not only from Vicksburg and Warren County, but also from each of the surrounding communities.  Offering much in its infancy, Alcorn State University has plans to offer even more at the Vicksburg location in the future, including several complete degree programs. 

 

 

 

Hinds Community College has been a partner from our beginning; providing space for classrooms, laboratories, and offices.  This partnership has also provided opportunities for students to programmatically earn their A.A. and B.S. degrees in specialized and transitioning academic areas.  As Alcorn continues to provide classes and make plans for the expansion and growth of a Vicksburg campus, our Vicksburg student population continues to grow.
