What is New Student Registration/Parent Orientation?
New Student Registration is a one-day session that gives incoming freshmen and transfer students an opportunity to begin the transition to college life. Students will learn basic information about the university, go through advisement and select classes for Fall 2008.
What is University Orientation & Welcome Week?
University Orientation & Welcome Week is a three-day program of activities designed to help new students, both new freshmen and transfer students, make a smooth transition to college life at Alcorn State University. The program includes an introduction to University history, culture, and traditions, familiarization with university resources, an overview of campus life and an opportunity to network with other students..
Is Attendance Required?
Attendance at both the University Orientation & Welcome Week and the New Student Registration and Parent Orientation Program is mandatory and required for all students new to the University; freshmen and transfer students. Not all events during University Orientation & Welcome Week are mandatory. Mandatory sessions that are missed require make-up activities.
