The festival kicked off in the morning with high school jazz ensemble performances in the Vicksburg Convention Center (VCC.) University Jazz Ensembles from around the region perform on the south stage of the Vicksburg Riverfest, on Washington Street, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 pm. In the VCC, the Yellowjackets conducted a workshop at 4:00, followed by a student reception and award ceremony from 5-6 p.m. The highlight of the festival was the evening concerts in the VCC, which featured Mississippi Jazz Educators with special guest Lisa Palmer at 7 p.m and the Yellowjackets in concert at 8:00.
