ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE MANAGEMENT
School of Business

The objectives of the Administrative Office Management major are:

  1. to develop skills necessary to efficiently and productively manage operations in an automated office environment, with emphasis on information management; system analysis; data integration, interpersonal relations; and technological developments.
  2. to develop analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving competencies essential for survival in constantly changing and increasingly technical business environments.
  3. to provide effective instruction in techniques of evaluating data, organizing and maintaining records, interpreting and communicating information, and using computers to increase productivity in office settings.
  4. to ensure that all students acquire those basic skills (mathematics, reading, language arts, speaking, writing, and listening) essential for entry survival in the work world, and for pursuing an advanced degree.
  5. to provide professional development and leadership training that fosters personal responsibility, self-esteem, self-management, and integrity among students.
