The School of Business is a member of The Association to Advance Collegiate
Schools of Business (AACSB).
Students majoring in the School are eligible for
membership in Students in Free Enterprise. Business students
with junior standing and an overall grade point average above 3.25 are elgible for
membership in the Delta Mu Delta National Honor Society.
To graduate with a degree from the School of Business students must successfully complete
at least 128 semester hours of prescribed course work and pass the Comprehensive
Examination in Business. Prior to graduation students must have a minimum of a 2.25
overall grad point average in all courses and a minimum 2.0 overall
grade point average in the School of Business Core plus all other
courses taken in the School of Business. At least 50 percent of the business credit hours required for the
business degree must be earned at Alcorn State University.
Students must complete the following requirements prior to enrolling
in any upper division business courses (300 and 400 level):
- should complete all General College requirements;
- must have an assigned School of Business advisor;
- must have a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0; and
- must have a minimum grade of C in each of the following courses:
- English 111
- English 112C
- Math 121
- Math 223
- Accounting 213
- Accounting 214, and
- Oral Communications.
