The health science program emphasizes preparation for careers in health-related fields through a broad understanding of human development, factors which influence human development, a solid foundation in the biological sciences, and the biological basis of human development. Majors will qualify for advanced study in graduate and professional fields, such as nutrition, public health, health service, planning and administration, and other biological sciences. After successfully completing the health science curriculum and passing a departmental comprehensive examination, the student will receive a Bachelor of Science Degree from Alcorn State University.
