Document Translation and Verification - We will translate and/or verify translation of official documents for international students and members of the local community.

International Student Support- We help international students become integrated and acclimated to life on the Alcorn campus and in the local community. We assist them with Interpreting and applying federal regulations, advising, and ensuring compliance related to work authorization, travel/re-entry, course load requirements, visa adjustments. We also counsel and assist students with immigration matters. We maintain up-to-date information on INS regulations. We help them get bank accounts, phones, find local resources and engage them in projects related to internationalization at Alcorn.

International Projects - The Office of Global Programs works closely with the Agriculture and other departments to establish international partners or cooperative agreements with international universities with the aim of creating opportunities for faculty.

Special Events - Every year, The Office of Global Programs facilitates the Multicultural Festival which includes international speakers, posters, presentations, video, cultural artifacts, dances, music and food by Alcorn students, staff and faculty. It is open to Alcorn and the local communities. We also have Study Abroad Fairs and Passport Drives to inform students about the opportunities for international education and encourage them to consider Study Abroad.

Language Institutes - Global Programs has Language Institutes in the Fall and Spring semesters and also a short Summer Language Institute during the Summer semester.  Currently, Chinese and Arabic are taught during the Fall and Spring and Russian, and sometimes Chinese, are taught during the Summer Language Institute (SLI).  The SLI is open to Alcorn students, faculty and staff and to area K-12 teachers.  The K-12 teachers can earn CEUs by completing the SLI course.

Global Classroom - OGP has mobile videoconferencing units which allow us to bring videoconferencing to classrooms and connect with universities and organizations from around the world. Videoconferencing is a great way to have face-to-face educational instruction from institutions beyond the Alcorn campus and the USA. Exchange of information and development of cooperative agreements between ASU and international entities increases the potential for global awareness and internationalization of the Alcorn students.
