ASU Foundation, Inc. Scholarships

Phase II Application Process
August 11 - 25, 2014
Incoming Freshmen and Transfer Students Only

Admitted students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships offered through the ASU Foundation, Inc.  Most endowed scholarships are offered in the names of persons, mostly alumni, who valued the opportunities of an Alcorn education.

The Alcorn State University Foundation, Inc. administers a number of endowed scholarships, many of which have been established by family and friends in memory of beloved Alcornites or by faculty members. Students are able to apply based on the criteria for selection by the appropriate scholarship committee. After applications are received, they are evaluated and decisions made by the university's scholarship committee. If selected, recipients are notified in writing and requested to immediately submit a draft Thank You Letter to the ASU Writing Center in the JD Boyd Library. Final Thank You Letters are usually forwarded to the donor to notify them of the recipients appreciation. If the final Thank You Letter is received in time, the scholarship monies will be posted to the students ASU account during registration.

ASU Foundation scholarship recipients, not only receive financial assistance to defray the cost of an education but they also become one of Alcorn's ambassadors of excellence.

Actual amounts available to be awarded depend on investment performance. Scholarships are awarded for the beginning of an academic year for both fall and spring semesters. One half of the total award is paid in the fall and the remaining half in the spring. A select number of scholarships are awarded for the summer sessions. You may also click on the button at the bottom of the page to apply. You may only select up to five (5) scholarships, for which you meet the minimum criteria, to apply for at one time.
