ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE OFFICE OF GLOBAL PROGRAMS (OGP) AT ALCORN STATE UNIVERSITY

The Director of OGP reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.  A university-wide Global Council was created.  The Global Council will assist in resource development and facilitate international activities in their respective departments and schools. The administrative functions of OGP are the following:

• Coordination of study abroad for undergraduates and facilitating research abroad for graduate students, when financially feasible.
   

• Coordination and serving as repository for MOUs and cooperative linkages with foreign universities.
   

• Serve as liaison with government agencies, donor organizations, NGOs, consortia and multinational organizations for international development.
   

• Coordination and serving as clearance for international proposals and projects.
   

• Coordination of international exchanges for faculty, staff, and students (programs led by faculty or led by OGP); facilitating language and cultural enrichment programs on the ASU campus and abroad.
   

• Providing student support services and advising for international students.
   

• Coordination of Fulbright Scholars and other fellowship programs.
   

• Providing support as needed with logistics of international travel for faculty, staff, and students.
   

• Serve as the point of entry and general support for international visitors and scholars.
