Dr. Derek Greenfield currently serves as Director of Educational Equity and Inclusion/Title IX Coordinator/Assistant Professor of Sociology at Alcorn State University.  As a testament to his talents as an educator and dedication to students, Dr. Greenfield has been named five times to the list of Who's Who Among America's Teachers and received Faculty of the Year honors in a previous position at Shaw University.  His innovative course, "Hip-Hop and American Society," has been featured twice in Source magazine.  He also spent seven years as an award-winning youth worker in inner-city Chicago.  Dr. Greenfield has published several academic papers on issues related to diversity and innovative teaching and is author of the widely acclaimed motivational book, The Answer is in Your Hands.  He is also a nationally requested speaker on a range of topics from cultural diversity to motivation to youth empowerment.

curry-small  Douglas Curry is the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Educational Equity and Inclusion at Alcorn State University.  Originally from New Jersey, Douglas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at Saint Augustine's College and has extensive experience working in youth-serving organizations.  He is pursuing the Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Alcorn. with an emphasis in Elementary Education, and ultimately endeavors to receive his PhD and teach at the university level.
