Alcorn School of Business awarded accreditation candidacy by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs

The Alcorn State University School of Business was officially awarded its candidacy certificate by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) at the annual conference recently held in Baltimore, Maryland.

Receiving ACBSP accreditation is an important accomplishment as currently only about 400 business programs globally are accredited by this organization.

“With this candidacy certificate, the School of Business has moved a step closer in the coveted ACBSP baccalaureate/graduate degree accreditation process,” said Dr. Akash Dania, assistant professor and co-champion, ACBSP accreditation, who attended the conference and accepted this honor on behalf of School of Business together with Dr. Vivek Bhargava, interim dean and champion, ACBSP accreditation. Also, representing Alcorn at the conference was Dr. John Igwebuike, associate dean of the School.

The conference also provided an opportunity to attend key accreditation and other leadership related training workshops and sessions.

Dr. Dania added, “Congratulations to the students, faculty and staff of the School of Business and Alcorn State University on this key accomplishment.”
