Do not miss your opportunity to learn how you can earn your degree while you continue working, join Alcorn State University in Vicksburg on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Hinds Community College at 5:00 p.m. to get the details. Alcorn State University partners with public school systems in Vicksburg and Natchez to ensure that teachers have every opportunity to enhance skill sets and gain new knowledge.
The Education Department is organizing education cohorts, which will be led by skilled faculty members who developed cohort programming to fit the needs of school system educators.
Alcorn will offer a number of its education cohort programs in on- and off-campus formats in Vicksburg and Natchez. Individuals working in or interested in working in the field of education will be able to earn a bachelor’s, master’s or a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree. Classes will begin in January 2010, once a cohort is formed. Students will remain together for the duration of the degree program. New students are not admitted to a cohort after it begins, but may join newly forming cohorts.
