First Year Experience Program Holds Study Strategies Workshop

First Year Experience

The Office of First Year Experience hosted a Study Strategies Workshop on January 31, 2011 in the J.D. Boyd Library Auditorium. Natasha Sanders, counselor in the Counseling and Testing Center, was the presenter for the workshop.

“The workshop was designed to give students the academic skills necessary to succeed in their college courses and college life,” stated Dr. Patricia White, director of the First Year Experience Program. “The students learned how to be successful, how to efficiently read textbooks, how to take useful classroom notes, how to manage time, apply knowledge, and retain material.”

The workshop provided first year students with vital information on how to own their college experience and be successful both in and out of the classroom.
