Alcorn State to hold Annual Ag Day 2011 on March 25
Alcorn State University will hold its annual Ag Day on Friday, March 25, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Morris‐Boykins Agricultural Sciences Building on the Lorman campus.
“Ag Day is a recruitment event held every year to provide information to high school students about agricultural careers and academic programs,” said Clifton Peters, USDA 1890 program manager. “It also provides an opportunity for students to interact with representatives from private companies and governmental agencies to help make the connection between academic preparation, personnel development and employment success.”
“The overriding goal of Ag Day is to let students know that agriculture is more than just farming, and there are many opportunities and careers in agriculture in which students can be successful,” Peters added.
For more information, contact Clifton Peters or Zanette Wells at 601-877-3969. The event is free and lunch will be provided.
