New Student Orientation: Get ready to succeed at Alcorn State University!
Alcorn State University will welcome newly admitted students during its New Student Orientation August 13-18, 2011. Whether you are a first year or a transfer student, New Student Orientation will provide you with the information and tools you need to engage opportunities and be successful during your academic tenure at Alcorn State University.
The exciting six-day program organized by the Division of Student Affairs will introduce new students to the undergraduate community from an academic and personal perspective. Programs are designed to provide information and assistance promoting academic success and personal development, such as access to academic advisors, financial aid information, student support services, as well as several social engagements to meet fellow students and develop new relationships.
Alcorn State University understands the transition to college life for the parent or family member of a new student can be both exciting and stressful. Join us for the Parents Information Session in the E.E. Simmons Gymnasium on Saturday, August 13, 2011, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. This session will provide you with important information and answer your questions, as well as prepare you to be the University's partner in promoting your student's independence and academic success. You will hear from University administrators, faculty, staff and students concerning important policies, processes, resources and programs/activities for your student.
