English major presents paper at prestigious symposium

English major Kimber Thomas presented a paper “The House that Black Built: the Evolution of the Home in African-American Consciousness” at the Claremont Research and Graduate School Symposium recently hosted by Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California.

“The Department of English and Foreign Languages is proud of our talented student,” said Dr. Cynthia Skaggs Scurria, department chair.

Kimber Thomas shared, “I had a great experience working on my paper and presenting it at the symposium. I would encourage students to get involved in research to get as much as possible out of their college experience.”
