The Alcorn State University Bookstore is operated by Follett Higher Education Group and is a unit of the Auxiliary Services Department in the Division of Administration and Finance.


The hours of operation for the Bookstore are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.  The Recharge U (Convenience Area) is open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday. The Bookstore is closed on Sunday.


The hours during the first week of classes are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.


Major credit/debit cards, ASU Gold Cards and various agency scholarship awards are accepted. Ordering of merchandise and textbooks can be done online by credit/debit cards and ASU Gold Cards.


The Bookstore carries a full range of quality emblematic and branded merchandise, gifts, supplies, orders, sells textbooks and related course materials. Textbook rentals and digital versions of some material, adopted for class textbooks, are also offered.   


Textbook buyback occurs every day. To receive the most value back for textbook(s), the Bookstore recommends selling textbook(s) during the week of finals. The book rental due date is always the last day of finals.


A valid receipt and/or packing slip are required for all refunds or exchanges. All items (except Course Materials and Hardware/Software) unopened and in original condition returned within 30 days of purchase may be exchanged or refunded to the original form of tender.

Course Materials and Hardware/Software Details:

Course Materials (textbooks):

New and used textbooks may be returned within the first 5 days of instruction for the semester in which they are purchased. A full refund will be issued if returning books for a course that was cancelled by the instructor or the Bookstore changed the required book.  All textbook returns require a receipt and must be in original condition. For a dropped course, the books must be returned within 7 days of dropping course with verification.

Materials purchased after the campus specific deadline (but before the final week of class) must be returned within 2 business days of purchase. Materials purchased during the last week of classes or final exams are not returnable/refundable.

- Final Sale items include the following: Inkling Digital Textbooks, Study Guides, Test Prep Books, Bar Charts, Cliff Notes, Professional Reference Study Aids, clearance items and magazines. All these items are not returnable/refundable.

Hardware & Software:

- Unopened (unless defective) computer hardware and software may be refunded or exchanged within 14 days of purchase.

2.   Return by mail. Note: we do not refund shipping and handling fees.


Merchandise purchased in the Bookstore will be shipped via FedEx at the request of the customer.


 How long will it take to receive my shipment?
  • Standard (arrives in approximately 4-7 business days)
  • 2nd Business Day (arrives in approximately 2-3 business days)
  • Next Business Day (arrives in approximately 1-2 business days)

Note: 1-2 business days are required to process and pack orders for shipment and are factored into the above estimation. "Business days" means Monday through Friday, with the exception of holidays. Please check with your campus store for shipping policies and delivery options.


Can I ship to a P.O. Box?

The U.S. Postal Service delivers to P.O. Boxes but this method may delay your order. Please note that Next Business Day and 2nd Business Day are not available for this option.

How do I ship to APO/FPO address?

When completing your Shipping Address during checkout, please be sure to follow these instructions:

  • The Country must be "United States";
  • The City must be entered as either APO or FPO;
  • The State must be selected as either "Armed Forces America" "Armed Forces Europe" or "Armed Forces Pacific;"
  • Enter your Zip code
  • Enter your full name, grade, and PSC or unit number. PLEASE NOTE: All orders going to APO/FPO addresses will be sent via the U.S. Postal Service.

Store Pickup

Items ordered online can be shipped to the store for FREE! On the Delivery Options page select 'Store Pickup'. We will send you emails with updates on your order's status as they become available.


Submission requests are accepted in the following ways:

  • Paper – An old adoption form can be submitted.

All merchandise is sold on a cash basis (including personal check, Am Ex, Visa, Master Card and Discover), is charged to a departmental account or to a personal faculty/staff account. Departmental charges are billed monthly to departmental accounts by the Bookstore. Each department receives a monthly record of charges made to the account. Departments receive a 20% discount on all clothing, gifts, and supplies. Faculty/staff members receive a 10% discount on all clothing, gifts, and supplies.
