1st Quarter - 2011 Incident Log

1-20-2011 ___ between the hours of 5 to 6 a.m. a football coach left his vehicle door open in a rush to get to the gym.  When he returned to his vehicle, he noticed some items missing. 

1-24-2011 ___ around hour 11:03 p.m. took a report about a threat to a student that turned out to be a prank. 

1-24-2011 ___ around hour 11:25 p.m.  officers dispatched to Building A with about a puppy dog in a room.  The student was instructed to give a statement why she had the puppy in her room and to remove it immediately. 

1-24-2011 ___ around hour 1:55 p.m.  Lt. Walker took a statement from a student about an Alcorn nursing student harassing her.  She stated that it  has been going on since Sept. 2010.  She had hoped ignoring her would make it cease. 

1-24-2011 ___ around hour 7 p.m.  a wallet was stolen at the POSSE meeting in Building D.  The student stated that he never took the coat off; so someone must have reached into his pocket and took it.  He cancelled his bankcards but was told by another student that someone used his gold card at the Pizza Hut.  

1-25-2011 ___ around hour 12:30 p.m.  Lt. Walker took a statement from concerning statements about blowing up the financial aid building.  A student was distraught about his financial aid situation and not being able to pay his fees.  Having made statements to Natasha Sanders of student counseling and testing and being over heard on the phone, it was determined that be removed from campus. 

1-25-2011 ___ around hour 9:07 p.m.  Sgt. Collins  and Sgt Williams dispatched to the Pizza Hut/Sub Connection because  a student has passed out. He was put in the patrol car to be transported to the hospital.  He requested to go to his room; so he was taken there. 

1-25-2011 ___  Captain R. Hammett took a report about a stolen cell phone.  A student reported his cell phone stole from the ROTC building. 

1-25-2011 ___  Captain R. Hammett took a hit and run who stated that her vehicle was side-swiped, tail light cracked with a piece missing, and yellow paint on the back end.  The incident happened in the honors dorm parking lot. 

1-25-2011 ___   around hour 11:50 p.m on Jan 25, 2011 a student  came to 700 and said that she needed help.  She was bleeding.  Officer C. Jones asked her what had happened.  She said her boyfriend had jumped on her.  She was taken to Claiborne County Hospital.  There was an arrest warrant issued for his arrest. 

1-26-2011 ___ around hour 3:27 p.m.  Lt. Walker took a statement from a student who stated someone else signed for an ups package intended for him.  UPS emailed Robinson a copy of delivery conformation with signature.  He said the signature was not his and he has not received his package. 

1-27-2011 ___ around hour 7:12 p.m. Major King, Sgt. Collins and Officer Jones reported to Building C for a unauthorized visitation complaint.  

1-27-2011 ___ around hour 7:30 p.m. Sgt. Collins took a report from a staff member who stated he gave two students a ride to campus from Natchez.  Somewhere between the time he “gassed up”  and got to the campus, a Toshiba laptop and $60 was missing.  The laptop was behind his seat and the $60 was in his glove box.  He called the students and told them to return the items.  They said they didn’t have them. 

1-27-2011 ___ around hour 7:45 p.m. Major King took a call from a woman concerning her son bought a subway sandwich and found marijuana in it.  After showing it to his supervisors at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, he was arrested. 

1-28-2011 ___ around hour 8:30 p.m. Major King reported that he and Sgt. Collins and Officer Jones were on patrol when they say students running around Burrus Hall.  The officers saw a pile of leaves burning and one student dropped his gold card. 

1-31-2011 ___ around hour 9:40 a.m. Lt. Walker took a report from a student who said another student stole his bookbag with text books, room key and gold card in it.  When confronted, that student gave the the gold card and room key back but held the bookbag and books. 

1-31-2011 ___ around hour 8:30 p.m. Major King reported that he and Sgt. Collins and Officer Jones were on patrol when they saw students running around Burrus Hall.  The officers saw a pile of leaves burning and one student dropped his gold card. 

1-31-2011 ___ around hour 7:50 p.m. Major King reported that the dorm matron of Burrus Hall called about the presence of a gas smell. Dean King also reported to Burrus.  He and Major King walk the building and discovered the main smell was coming from the boiler room.   Physical plant personnel was notified. 

2-02-2011 ___ around hour 1:30 p.m. Sgt.  Williams and Chief Maxwell were in the dining hall and witnessed two female students about to fight. Both were taken to the station to make statements.  There has been an ongoing “jabbing” between the two. 

2-01-2011 ___ around hour 10:50 p.m. Officer T. Thomas dispatched to Build A.  One studnet said that another gave her a car he said was paid for.  He later texted her and said the company called asking about the car.  When  Ms King went to where she left the car it was gone. 

2-02-2011 ___ around hour 12.45 a.m. Officer T. Thomas dispatched to Burrus Hall on domestic violence report. When officer Thomas arrived on the scene, a male was walking around the back of Burrus Hall with a female student.  Officer Thomas arrested him.   

2-03-2011 ___ around hour 11.00 a.m. Lt. Walker took a report from a student who dropped her ASU Gold card and someone took it and charged $116.61 off of it.  Her card was found and returned to her. 

2-04-2011 ___ around hour 2:08 p.m. Col. C Jackson took a report from from a student who said the his playstation 2 and joy stick was stolen out of his room while he slept.  He said that he went to sleep at 3 a.m. and it was under his tv.  When he woke at  10:30 a.m., the playstation was gone. 

2-04-2011 ___ around hour 4:30 p.m. Lt. Walker took a report from staff member that received threats from from a student over an incident at the gas pump at the ASU station.  The student said he was turning around to his pump side when the man rushed in and took the pump.  Verbal insults were hurled. The police was called before any altercation. 

2-06-2011 ___ around hour 4:33 p.m. Officer B. Brown filed a report about a room theft.  According to the student, her house shoes, ipod headphones and $49.20 cash was missing among her items.  The roommate had friends in the room but no conclusions have been made. 

2-06-2011 ___ around hour 5:00 p.m. Col. C Jackson took a report from a student who stated that she left her money and wallet in her car and when she returned to the car the next morning, her door was not closed and her money was gone. 

2-06-2011 ___ around hour 3:30 a.m. Major K. King filed a report that he observed on the monitors that a man had went into seven vehicles in the parking lot of the new dorms.  Two of the seven vehicle owners said they would press charges.  The others said they did have valuables taken. 

2-07-2011 ___ around hour 2:40 a.m. Officer T. Thomas that man and arrested him on grand larceny vehicle breaking and entering. He was caught on camera entering at least seven vehicles. 

2-09-2011 ___ around the hour 11:50 a.m. Lt. Walker took a statement from a female student about a woman, non student harassing her.   It stems from an affair she had with her boyfriend.  The  situation has been going on for months and involve phone calls, texting and facebook accounts. 

2-09-2011 ___ around the hour 2:35 p.m. Lt. Walker took a report from a male student who reported some items missing out of his  pack.  He also reported that he left his room unlocked.  He has insurance on his items and a tracking device on one item. 

2-09-2011 ___ around the hour 11:55 p.m. Officer T. Earls was dispatched back to the station to take a statement from a student about her vehicle be damaged by a hit a run.  She was left a note on her vehicle as to who hit her.  That note was given to campus police. 

2-09-2011 ___ around hour 10:43 p.m. Sgt. K. Collins and Officer C. Jones responded to a caller that she heard screaming behind the fine arts building. She saw a vehicle leaving the area and got the tag.  Officers  searched for the vehicle and a distressed person but did not find either.  

2-09-2011 ___ around the hour 9:30 a.m. Sgt. J. Williams and Officer K. Moore were dispatched to the administrative building.  A staff member reported that she did inventory and found several desktop computers and notebooks missing.  The office was searched several times.  A list of the missing items was filed with the report. 

2-10-2011 ___ around the hour 2:00 p.m. Col. Jackson made a report about some items being stolen from a vehicle in the Burrus dorm parking lot.  She came to the station a filed the report. 

2-11-2011 ___ around the hour 12:35 p.m.  Chief Maxwell had to arrest a student for failure to comply.  After the student was taken to the police station, she was identified and released.  Her case referred to the disciplinary committee. 

2-11-2011 ___ around the hour 12:35 p.m. Officer K. Moore took a statement from a student about his computer being stolen.   He would not give his roommate’s name.   He did state that he shares a room with an extra bed in it. 

2-09-2011 ___ around hour 10:45 p.m. Sgt. K. Collins and Officer K. Moore responded disturbance call at Revels Hall.  Two students were arguing it got loud enough for Dean Hargrove to respond and call the police.  No physical violence evolved. 

2-12-2011 ___ around hour 11:00 a.m. Sgt. R. Hammett  was “flagged down” in the parking lot by a student who said that she was raped.  The case was turned over to Lt. Walker who took her statement.  She said that she was at a house party.  She got drunk and four men took turns having sex with her in a back room of the house.  There were witnesses and a video tape of it was made. 

2-16-2011 ___ around hour 4:25 p.m. Officer T. Earls was dispatched to the Honors dorm.  A student reported that another student was leaving threatening messages on her phone. 

2-18-2011 ___ around the hour 4:05 p.m. Lt. Walker took a report from a student who stated that his xbox was taken.  He said that he had it that morning.  When he returned that afternoon, it was gone. 

2-19-2011 ___ around 1:20  p.m. Sgt. R. Hammett  took a report from a student who said his laptop and xbox was stolen. 

2-19-2011 ___ around 10:15 Officer T. Thomas took a report from a female student who reported that a male student throw a rock that broke her vehicle’s window.  Several witnesses said he was the one that threw the rock that broke the window. 

3-1-2011 ___ around 9:35 am Officer T. Thomas was called to Building D by the dean on a suspected of marijuana smoke smell.  Officer Thomas found the one who took the blame for possession of marijuana. 

3-1-2011 ___ around 7:49 pm Sgt. K. Collins took reports from a couple.  They were in a relationship and he wanted out.  She got angry and attacked him.  They were advised to stay away from each other and the disciplinary committee will contact them. 

3-4-2011 ___ around 2:48 am Major K. King took a report from a female student who reported that another student tried to run her off the road and they fought.  He also tried to get in her call while she was at the station making the report, Major King told him get out and he refused. He snatched away and was sprayed by maze.  His friends in a nearby car, came a got him and drove away with him. 

3-4-2011 ___ around 4:O5 am Major K. King reported that dispatch got a call from Building A that a male in  a room  was not a student.  He was knocking on the door. A male student was in the room.  When  she opened the door, both males started fighting.  Campus police arrived shortly after and arrested of non student male.  Hill and Parks were charged with unlawful visitation.  The case sent to the disciplinary committee. 

3-7-2011 ___ around 10:41 pm Sgt. K. Collins took reports two females.  One came to the  police station  and accused the other  of verbal abuse and threats.  She stated that she was ‘slandered”   with false profiles on facebook. Both were advised to stay away from each other and the disciplinary committee will contact them. 

3-7-2011 ___ around 1:30 pm Lt Walker report that CITS manager, Desmond Stewart showed him on the computer that persons responsible for destroying 4 cameras in Revels Hall.  One male student was shown breaking 3 cameras; and one male student was shown destroying one camera.  After tearing it down, he kicked it down the hall. 

3-21-2011 ___ around 4:30 pm  Capt. R. Hammett took a report about  a theft in Building D.  Upon return from spring break, a student reported that his xbox was missing.  His roommate also reported his ipod was missing. 

3-24-2011 ___ around 6:55 am  Major  King along with Sgt. Collins and officer Bradley responded to a call that the front side window to the entrance upstairs to the dining hall had been shattered.  It appeared to have been done by a bb gun. 

3-25-2011 ___ around 2:20 am Major King took reports about  a man coming on campus with what appeared to be an assault rifle.  The off-campus nightclub security company’s chief indentified the weapon and the man; then reported it to campus police. 

3-28-2011 ___ around 4:00 pm  Capt. R. Hammett took a report from a student  that her roommate stole her perfume and she found it in her make bag.  She said she stole her black   see-thru shirt and she saw her wearing it.  She said she took her panties and she saw them in her roommate’s  dirty clothes bag.  She has been removed from the room. 

3-29-2011 ___ around 6:00 pm a fight took place between two female students on campus.  There is a history between the two.  It is believed to involve a male acquaintance.  

3-31-2011 ___ around 12:26 am Major King  took  reports from two male students that items have been stolen from their rooms.  One of them had lost his key two days earlier.  

3-31-2011 ___ around 11:25 am  Col. Jackson took a report from a student  that her cell phone was stolen while she was at practice.  She put them on the gym floor as always.  This day it was gone when she return to them.
