Communiversity Initiatives

Alcorn State University Staff Senate is proud to announce the first project in a series of community service activities  planned to build and strengthen positive relationships in the communities we directly impact.

The Staff Senate will deliver gift baskets to three local nursing home facilities, Claiborne County Nursing Home, Jefferson County Nursing Home and Adams County Nursing Center. Staff members from every department have donated items to complete the gift baskets and will assemble and deliver them before the Christmas Holiday.

We are elated to generate so much enthusiasm and participation for a project of this magnitude. Staff members feel good about reaching out into the community in meaningful ways and making an impact.

Staff Senate has planned to do at least one community service project each semester. Be sure to attend the meetings or consult your representative to find out what the Spring project will be.
