Alcorn’s Breast Cancer Forum at the Vicksburg Branch a success
The Alcorn State University Vicksburg Expansion Center and Mu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Forum Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Several of the women shared their breast cancer survivor stories with the audience. Among the speakers was Carlotta Ferguson, director of Finance for the United Way of West Central Mississippi, who is an 8-year breast cancer survivor. Ali Hopson, a registered dietitian at Promise Hospital and Merit Health Systems in Vicksburg, Mississippi, also gave her testimony.
Gift bags with cancer information pamphlets were presented to the attendees. Registered Nurse and member of the Mu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc. Mable Jennings hosted a question and answer session after the testimonials.
