Alcorn State University listed on Essence and MONEY Magazine’s “The Best 50 Colleges” list
Alcorn State University continues to earn accolades for being one of the most exceptional universities in the country.
Alcorn is ranked number one in Mississippi, number nine among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and number 32 overall on ESSENCE and MONEY magazine ’s Best Colleges for African-Americans list. ESSENCE partnered with MONEY Magazine, analyzing more than 1,500 colleges to single out the ones that offer the best value for African-American students. The criteria for the list were graduation rates, affordability, earning potential and representation.
President Alfred Rankins Jr. credits Alcorn’s hard working students and employees for their tireless efforts to make the University a great institution of higher learning.
“This latest achievement is a testament to the dedication of the University’s students, faculty and staff, and our commitment to providing a quality and affordable education,” said Rankins. “They go above and beyond to assure that Alcorn State University’s legacy of excellence continues. I applaud them for their commitment to academic excellence.”
