Program Development and Evaluation

Program Development is a vital aspect of the programming process for the Alcorn State University Extension Program (ASUEP) to develop and design educational curriculum, activities and event for limited -resource audiences. The program development team will coordinate the development and pilot testing of educational programs (curriculum), events and activities of ASUEP to address high priority issues of limited resources audiences.

The team will, also, develop the criteria for the curriculum review process to enhance the quality of educational material developed by the staff of ASUEP. Upon the review of programs (curriculum), activities and events, the team will utilize the expertise of both internal and external reviewers from program areas to review educational curriculum, events and activities designated to address high priority issues of target audiences.


Program Reviews

The Program Development Team is, also, responsible for conducting programs reviews across counties in respective targeted regions to determine the effectiveness; identify programs gaps, events and activities that should be eliminated based on program priority relevant to the needs of targeted audiences and do not align with the Plan- of -Work (POW).


Program Development

The objectives of the Program Development Team are to:

  • Review content outlines and teaching methods and strategies for the development of content of educational programs, events and activities to address prioritized issues of targeted limited- resource audiences.
  • Review of appropriate delivery strategies to enhance the implementation of educational programs, events and activities to effectively address relevant issues of targeted audiences.
  • Review relevant program content in program areas to address high priority issues of targeted audiences in selected counties.
  • Work collaborative with the assistant administrator’s office and Media and Communication Unit to facilitate the development of final publications (brochures, events and activities).
