82nd Mississippi Academy of Sciences Conference

Mr. Devontrae Williams (a graduate student in M.S. Program of Computer and Information Science) and Mr. Joseph Maxwellson (an undergraduate student in Computer Science) with two professors Dr. Lixin Yu and Dr. Ping Zhang attended the 82nd Mississippi Academy of Sciences Conference on February 22nd-23rd, 2018 in Hattiesburg, MS.

Mr. Williams’s oral presentation: “Survey of Artificial Intelligence Applications” was awarded the first place in the graduate student oral presentation competition in the Math and Computer Science Division.

Mr. Maxwellson’s oral presentation: “Identification of Bruised Apples Using Deep Learning and 3D Near-infrared Imaging” was awarded the first place in the undergraduate student oral presentation competition in the Mathematics and Computer Science Division.
