While the Counseling Center strives to use multiple avenues to inform students of the availability of counseling services, referrals to the center (by faculty, staff and/or administrators) are extremely valuable in enhancing opportunities to meet the mental health/psychological wellness needs of our campus.

Referrals by faculty, staff or administrators may be made by completing a Referral Form or contacting Counseling Services directly for assistance. The form can be accessed by clicking the link, Referral Process. Complete the form, save it to your desktop or USB device, and submit it to Counseling Services as an email attachment. Appointments and walk-ins are welcomed. Emergency situations will be treated as such and in accordance with the procedures implemented by Counseling Services .

If the student agrees to meet with a counselor, you can assist the student in the following ways:

  • Explain to the student that he or she can go to Counseling Services and ask to speak to a counselor.
  • Give the student the name of the center, phone number and location.
  • Walk with the student to Counseling Services.
  • Telephone us with the student present and set up an appointment.
