Mississippi Community College Transfer Graduates Scholarship

Full Scholarships are awarded to those who have graduated from a community college and who earned a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.3 or above on a 4.0 scale in an academic program when they graduated. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN) accepted to Alcorn's AD or BS Nursing Programs also qualify to receive this scholarship.

The Mississippi Community College Transfer Graduates Scholarship is awarded to those qualified students who have never attended a 4- year College or University beyond high school before entering Alcorn State University.

Community College Transfer Graduates will receive junior status.

Scholarships are renewable each year provided you maintain a 3.0 or above Cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale at the end of each academic year. Qualified applicants may receive only one of the above scholarships.

The President's Excellence, Provost Scholar, University Scholar, Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarships are awarded to those qualified students who have never attended a Community College, College, University, Vocational-Technical College or any school beyond high school before entering Alcorn State University.

All scholarship recipients are recommended to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for Federal and/or State Aid.You can apply via the web at www.fafsa.gov. If, after filing the FAFSA, you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant, your scholarship will be reduced by the amount of the Federal Pell Grant (reduction only applies to President’s Excellence, Provost Scholar, Provost Diversity Scholar and Mississippi Community College Transfer Graduate Scholarship recipients).Also, if receiving more than one institutional scholarship, all institutional scholarships combined (including Pell amount reduction for full academic scholarships) cannot exceed the cost of tuition, room and board (plus allocated books/stipends).Institutional Scholarships includes Academic, Band, Music or any scholarship deemed as institutional.

Academic Scholarships are awarded for Fall and Spring ONLY.
