2018 SWAC Championship rings are on the way
The Alcorn State University Department of Athletics would like to announce the 2018 SWAC Football Champions Rings were ordered in mid-February and are on the way. Rings are expected to arrive within the next week.
After receiving additional guidance from governing authorities, the process the department originally pursued in January had to be altered and the traditional process, along with a new vendor was used. All players, coaches, and team support staff will receive their respective championship ring, pendant, or bracelet this year.
On April 13 at the Champion's Brunch, Interim President Dr. Donzell Lee and Athletic Director, Derek Horne publicly expressed deep regrets and informed the team of the expected delay. We honor and thank our exemplary student-athletes, who fought to win the first SWAC football championship game hosted on a conference campus, for their understanding.
Alcorn thanks all of our alumni, fans, and friends who have contributed to the Champions Fund to help raise funds to support our reigning SWAC Champion Braves Football team. Finally, we appreciate the unwavering support and engagement of the Brave faithful that helped our team claim the championship and look forward to seeing that continued Brave spirit as we look to repeat this fall.
