Alcorn announces fall 2022 commencement speaker
Alcorn State University alumna Demetha Sanders, global head of Employee Lifecycle at Atlassian, will serve as the fall 2022 graduation speaker. The commencement ceremony will be held at the Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10.
Atlassian is a software company helping teams worldwide unleash their potential through collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, and Trello.
She is responsible for challenging tradition and moving people practices forward while ensuring every Atlassian can bring their truest, most authentic selves to work — from anywhere.
Sanders has worked for several large multinational organizations throughout her career, including well-known brands like American Express, Bacardi-Martini International, DHL Express, and Cargill. The impact of her work can be felt around the world as she has shaped the people designs of these global brands. She has worked and traveled the globe to nurture her curiosity about culture and the lives of the people with which we share the world.
In addition, she is a 1993 graduate of Alcorn State University with a Bachelor of Science in educational psychology, and she earned her Master of Science in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
