Alcorn wins The David M. Halbrook Trophy for second consecutive year

Alcorn State University’s student-athletes have once again represented the university with their supremacy in athletics and academics.

The university won The David M. Halbrook Trophy during the 2019 Mississippi Association of Colleges and Universities’ (MAC) annual conference in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. This is Alcorn’s second consecutive year winning the award.

The David M. Halbrook Trophy is presented to the institutional executive officers of the winning colleges and universities with the highest percentage of graduating student-athletes.

President Dr. Felecia M. Nave praised the student-athletes for exceeding the high standards of the university.

“It pleases me to see our student-athletes working to earn their degrees as well as win on the field,” said Nave. “I am impressed with their dedication to their studies. Our student-athletes are some of the brightest young men and women in the world, and they continue to help propel Alcorn to higher levels with their academic performance. We are proud of their efforts and we wish them the best in their future endeavors.”
